About 20 grads got together on October 5, 2018 for their 20-year reunion at The Cactus Club in Abbotsford. The steak and great guacamole made up for the 5-block walk to the restaurant, which is notorious for its lack of available parking spots. As gut-wrenching as it seemed at first to talk to people you haven’t seen for 20 years, conversation and laughter flowed freely by 6 o’clock among the grads. I ended up having to flip through the year book in order to jar my memory for names, proving that old age has finally caught up with some of us. The grads got to reconnect and hear about each other’s trials, tribulations, and blessing that they faced over the last twenty years in their lives.
In honour of those of us who would feel comfortable in a place where talking is not key to reconnecting, Katrina and (Dustin’s wife) Jaydene Freund (who Dustin graciously volunteered as a potential event planner) are planning to possibly host a 25-year reunion event, involving river rafting followed by a picnic in the park the next day. We will post closer to the 25 year reunion with more information regarding this event.
